My first major casting project resulted in me finding and casting a host named Miss Mykie for BET’s flagship show 106 & Park. Two of my finds, DJ Damage and Zuri Hall have landed host roles with major cable networks REVOLT and E!. It’s safe to say I was really good at casting. My eye for talent is remarkable.
I am an expert of an intriguing jump cut style used in video to pitch cast members to major network executives. Beyond casting, I have created various visually appealing banner ads and video while doing work as a Digital Content Producer.

Ashley J resides in New York City where she was born and raised. She attended Lincoln University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mass Communications: TV & Radio.
Upon leaving Lincoln University, Ashley J worked her way up in television by doing jobs as a Casting Editor for networks such as: MTV International, Black Entertainment Television, FUSE Networks, VH1, and BRAVO. It was at these networks that Ashley J discovered her great eye for talent, having found and pitched then singer Miss Mykie to BET executives to host their flagship show 106 & Park.
Having briefly worked in Damon Dash’s Poppington Gallery, Ashley J has perfected her video editing skills. Videos she has edited for hip-hop artist Jim Jones’ Vampire Life brand, other artists/on-air personalities/sports figures affiliated with Dash have appeared on his DD172 online channel and his personal instagram. Updated cuts of those videos can be seen on this site. Ashley J has also worked on videos and visuals with up and coming artists, fashion designers and celebrity choreographer Matthew Pasterisa.
While also pursuing a music career, she produces and writes music which can be heard in the music section of this site and also in the background of some of her videos. Ashley J became a member of ASCAP in 2013.
Ashley J is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, where she was initiated in Spring 2008 in the Epsilon Nu Chapter. She was elected Member At Large for the Tau Omega chapter in 2011. She continues to serve the community with the organization as well as personal service projects working with youth who have an interest in learning about multimedia.
